Eraser Codes

Since bandwidth is a limiting factor with regards to  decentralized cloud storage networks, we feel replication is a poor utility to guarantee data resiliency. For this reason, our network makes exclusive use of erasure codes for resiliency and data protection.

Parity Fragments

Another key differentiator of the network is the use of eraser codes for resiliency, rather than replication. When using object-based storage in a private or hybrid cloud, one must choose between using replication or erasure coding to protect critical data. Replication creates multiple files to protect the data objects.  Whereas erasure coding splits your data objects into fragments and adds “parity” fragments for increased data protection.
